Culture Change We engineered a comprehensive approach to culture change and customer service inside a community hospital. Change Management We helped the leadership team of a business develop and implement a plan for transition upon sale to a larger corporation. Assistance to governance We worked with a large professional practice in the creation of a unifying vision, effective Board structure, and coherent executive structure. Executive Team Development We developed a cohesive leadership team in a company whose division heads were embattled and at cross-purposes. We accomplished this by focusing on overarching values and objectives, building effective management structures, and cementing a commitment to openness and collaboration. Creating Empowered and Accountable Work Groups We assisted a hospital in transitioning from a department-based organizational structure to a work team-based environment, driven by TQM principles. Restructuring the Organization By clarifying leadership accountabilities and creating clear, effective links between disparate divisions, we helped knit together a large business consulting firm into a powerful, unified organization. Leadership Training and Executive Coaching We have worked with groups and individuals from every sector of the American economy to develop world-class leadership capacities. For several clients, we have developed comprehensive programs for management education. Communication We have worked with numerous clients in implementing critical incident communication strategies, and routinely redesign internal communication practices in the context of our work with culture and change management. Creating Cohesion and Effectiveness in Professional Practices (the art of "herding cats") We are actively involved in drawing upon the lessons learned through our extensive work with physician groups to address the challenges of other professions rooted in a culture of autonomy-- law, engineering, consulting... Crisis Management We assisted the executive team of a community agency in restoring credibility and morale in the aftermath of an unanticipated and much-protested firing of middle managers. Conflict Resolution We intervened when two executives of a major human services organization were locked in conflict, by clarifying issues, diffusing tension based upon personalities, and steering a course toward resolution based on a data-driven approach to the shared task of meeting organizational goals. Alliances We work with a variety of other consulting firms - large and small - bringing our unique expertise to comprehensive projects addressing strategic planning, compensation, marketing, public relations, and information technology.
